Abstract

During these two hundred years of republican nationhood, critical voices about our collective identity have not ceased to appear in Peru. The hope of creating a true Peruvian nation that integrates all its inhabitants has nurtured diverse social, academic, political, religious and other groups. However, the ideals still remain on paper or in the cry of the masses since they are usually utopias and justifications of the administrators of power. Peru is a country that still lacks common ideals and a cohesive society. This lack of identity and unity are the basis of permanent instability. So: what else to do for Peru, what path to follow to create an identity, a Peruvian nation in a pluricultural society and in the context of globalization, how to overcome the dichotomy of Creole and Andean?
