Within the narratives that account for violence during the Peruvian armed conflict (1980-2000), we study the novel by Renato Cisneros, La distancia que nos separa (2016), as an example of a story that seeks to recover the past through the national and family archive. Through the intersection between journalism and literature, its author, son of the former peruvian war minister during the first years of the belligerence, Luis Federico Cisneros Vizquerra, proposes a revision of the figure that exceeds the public image of this agent involved. This article aims to analyze the writing operations that allow him to return to the family and Army archive in a critical way in order to propose an archive-other about this soldier.
