In this essay I analyze the intermediary-uncanny relationships that develop in “La pequeña compañía” [2007] by Yeniva Fernández. I argue that the role of intermediary in the imaginary bunny and Martha, the wife of the protagonist Gonzalo Terreros, reveals the family’s repressed historical past. To support this reading, I resort to the approaches on (i) the uncanny and the repressed, presented in the essay “Das unheimliche” [1919] by Sigmund Freud, (ii) the concept of “ñawpa sin duplicación”, elaborated in “Pacha: un concepto andino de espacio y tiempo” (1994) by Atuq Manga and (iii) the theoretical characterization of the supay, carried out in “El silencio de Guamán Poma de Ayala ante Supay: de duende, espíritu y fantasma a diablo” (2014) by Rocío Quispe-Agnoli. In this way, the uncanny revelation becomes more complex as a critical symbol of a historical-social nature around the Andean mythology with which the story dialogues.
