In this article the autor analyzes Garcilaso' s translation ofthe Dialogues ofLove ofLeon Hebreo from Italian to Spanish, ata time when abstracts, freeadaptations, texts modified in content and form and paraphrasis werecommon practice in the task of translation later, influenced by Italianhumanism, translators paid respect to the original.
