The article explains the use of the diminutive -ito in Spanish. The purpose ofthis research is to evaluate the pragmatic function of the morpheme in question.Pragmatic aspects underlying the realization of the suffix in meaningful contextsare different in appearance, ranging from the attribution of emotional nuance to the projection of ironic resources. It follows that the use of the diminutive morpheme,because of our inquiry involves pragmatic strategies that must be reconstructed incommunicative interaction. As we will see more than just a morphological particle,it is a communicative action that crystallizes the intention of the sender.Downloads
