Abstract

In this article, we propose to focus on the importance of the finding on the marriage of the apu Suparaura with the young virgin, as a form of the cult of fertility of the world, where the sexed biosphere of the enaovironment becomes an archetype of resignification and propitiation in the ritual cycles of cosmic renewal, in a universe of competences and reciprocal exchanges of the Andean world. In addition, we analyze the importance of the apu Suparaura as the main divinity and sacred mountain, according to myths, representation of the wankas and the symbology of the «enchanted bull» of Supoqocha. However, in the sixteenth century, Guamán Poma recorded how one of the «wakas mayores» de Chinchaysuyo, received many human sacrifices and sumptuous offerings in his cult.
