La larga permanencia del poder español se debió a la existencia de una ideología política providencialista que sacralizó todas las formas del dominio colonial, de modo que la obediencia, la fidelidad, el vasallaje y la servidumbre devinieron en actos de fe y piedad cristianos. En este contexto se desarrolló la idea de «naciónpueblo » (unidad en la heterogeneidad de estamentos y funciones vinculados). En la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII, de esta idea se desprendió la idea de « nación colonial».Downloads
