Ponencia presentada en el Foro Social Mundial de Porto Alegre 2002 en el marco del Seminario "La ilusión del desarrollo y las alternativas de cambio social para los países del Sur", Panel 2 del 1 de febrero del 2002. El autor expone sobre los paradigmas que alimentan el imaginario de la humanidad, se refiere a los paradigmas de la civilización occidental, sin abordar los paradigmas de otras civilizaciones, ni de otras religiones, que pueden ser igualmente válidos.
