Ethics, plagiarism and bad behaviors

PESQUIMAT understands the importance and responsibility of the publication of scientific research articles.

In PESQUIMAT the works received go through a process in which authors, editors and reviewers are involved.

PESQUIMAT ensures that the information provided in the articles is accurate and reliable, as well as the rights of those involved, good behavior and good procedures are preserved. For this, PESQUIMAT is guided by the standards and codes of ethics of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) [http://publicationethics.org/] and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME) [http: // www. icmje.org/], as well as Peruvian norms related to scientific research, such as legal norms on copyright, open access and others related to the themes of our journal. PESQUIMAT considers plagiarism as a fraud in the publication, and is defined as the appropriation of the ideas, processes, results or words of another person without giving the corresponding credit. Fraud and misconduct are also understood as the manufacture (invention of data or results), and forgery (manipulation of research materials, equipment, processes to alter data or results, as well as the change or omission of data or results ).

PESQUIMAT does not tolerate plagiarism, fraud or misconduct; therefore, it establishes mechanisms to avoid and remedy it: (a) during the editorial process, PESQUIMAT avoids the publication of plagiarisms, fraud and misconduct using peer opinion and text review using INTERNET and computer tools to detect it. (b) After its publication, if PESQUIMAT detects or is alerted and confirms cases of plagiarism, fraud or misconduct, it will proceed according to the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE - http://publicationethics.org/) and may execute article retraction.
