Mental health and periodontal disease in times of pandemic

En estos dos últimos años, la pandemia COVID-19 nos ha dejado, más allá del distanciamiento, el aislamiento social, y otras medidas restrictivas, una afectación en la salud social y mental de las personas. Algunos gobiernos no tomaron las medidas necesarias para brindar apoyo al estado de salud mental dentro de sus programas de salud pública, recomendado por los expertos. En una revisión publicada en “The Lancet Psychiatry”, se menciona que la separación de los seres queridos, la pérdida de libertad, el aburrimiento y la incertidumbre de contagiarse, pueden causar un deterioro en el estado de salud mental de un individuo.
