La academia, siempre ha depositado su confianza en los investigadores para que a través de sus esfuerzos logren los avances en ciencia y tecnología que necesita la sociedad para su bienestar y desarrollo. Sin embargo, la historia ha mostrado que es importante contar con mecanismos de control y supervisión de las investigaciones para garantizar su desarrollo dentro del marco de la ética y la integridad científica.1
