La lactancia forma parte integrante del proceso reproductivo y es la forma ideal y natural de alimentar al lactante. Constituye una base biológica y psicológica única para el desarrollo del niño. Este hecho, junto a otros importantes efectos en la prevención de las infecciones, en la salud y el bienestar de la madre, en el espaciamiento de los embarazos, en la salud de la familia, en la economía de la familia, el país y en la producción de alimentos, hace de la lactancia natural un elemento clave de autosuficiencia, de la atención primaria de la salud y de los actuales criterios de desarrollo.Downloads
