The health crisis resulting from the pandemic has led the education sector in most countries to a radical change, this change has reinforced the problems already existing in our country, such as the low levels of student learning achievement. In the case of the area of Arts and Culture there is no proposal by the state to measure the development of their competencies, are the students actually managing to develop their competencies? The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between pedagogical processes and the development of competencies in the area of Art and Culture in secondary school students at I.E. 2061 San Martin de Porres Independencia. This research has a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 148 high school students. A 30-item questionnaire was applied and to measure the development of Art and Culture competencies, the students’ grade records were used. It was found that the pedagogical processes are not significantly related to the development of competencies in the area of Art and Culture.
