Abstract

The Humiriaceae are represented in Peru by six genera and 12 species (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993), all trees. Here we recognize two endemic species in the genus Vantanea. These endemic taxa are found in the Humid Lowland Amazonian Forest region, between 100 and 150 m elevation. Neither of the species has been collected to date in Peru’s protected areas system.
