Abstract

The Tiliaceae are represented in Peru by 11 genera and 29 species (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993; Ulloa Ulloa et al., 2004), mostly trees and shrubs. This family is an addition to the endemic flora with one endemic species in the genus Neotessmannia. This endemic species is found in Humid Lowland Amazonian Forests region, with unknown altitudinal range. It has not been recorded within Peru’s protected areas system.
