It has been performed a serologic study to establish the rate of infection by Toxoplasma gondii of 250 sheeps from 6 Departments of Peru (Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Ica, Lima, Puno). The methods used were the Hemagglutination test (R.H.A) by the micro-test and the complement fixation test (R.F.C.) as the Bozicevieh's technic of the 50 percent hemolysis. The antigen of Toxoplasma was prepared in the Laboratory of Toxoplasmosis of the Institute of Tropical Medicine. 208 (83.2%) samples were positives with the Hemagglutination test, and 28 (11.2%) were them with the complement fixation test. These results show the high rate of infection of the sheeps studied by Toxoplasma gondii and the epidemiologic importance of these findings are discussed.Downloads
