In addition, fraud and misconduct are also understood as fabrication (invention of data or results), and falsification (manipulation of research materials, equipment, processes to alter data or results, as well as the change or omission of data or results).
The Revista Peruana de Biología does not tolerate plagiarism, fraud, or misconduct, for which it establishes mechanisms to avoid and remedy it:

The Revista Peruana de Biología is a participant in the Similarity Check that uses Ithenticate.

Self-plagiarism, duplication, and publication of thesis

Self-plagiarism or text recycling is the use of texts previously published by the same author who submit the work. The recycling of text causes the loss of originality of the work.
Other bad behaviours related to self-plagiarism are (1) duplicating an article (sometimes referred to as redundant or dual publication), (2) salami publication (also known as salami slicing and salami publishing) refers to inappropriate fragmentation of information into the smallest publishable units. The Revista Peruana de Biología does not exclude the recycling of text from the analysis with the Ithenticate software.
Authors are urged to avoid recycling texts and submit original manuscripts.
The Revista Peruana de Biología does not publish theses, or thesis summaries. However, the journal accepts scientific articles based on the information, data and results obtained in the process of preparing the thesis.
