Focus and scope

ISHRA, Revista del Instituto Seminario de Historia Rural Andina is a research magazine addressed to a audience specialized in social sciences and humanities that is published semiannually by the Seminar Institute of Andean Rural History (ISHRA) of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of San Marcos. Following the multidisciplinary work of Ishra, since it was founded in 1966 by the historian Pablo Macera (1929-2020), the magazine publishes articles based on primary research and unpublished original essays and free theme, which mean a contribution to the understanding of Peru on Peru and Latin America.

Usually, the magazine publishes reviews of books published in the last three years, which can be free of theme or refer to the theme of a dossier. Essays are also published that they are the result of a reflective examination of three or more books recently published about the same theme. Occasionally and at the discretion of the Editorial Committee, the magazine also publishes testimonies or records of interest to the field of social sciences and humanities.
