Desde su apertura, el Lugar de la Memoria, la Tolerancia e Inclusión Social (LUM) ha impulsado diversas actividades culturales dirigidas a la ciudadanía, mientras que en un plano más académico, ha promovido investigaciones en torno a los estudios de la violencia política y la memoria. Ello lo ha hecho mediante la publicación de trabajos académicos a través de dos plataformas: la revista +Memoria(s) y la publicación de los mejores trabajos del Concurso Nacional de Ensayos que convocan desde el 2016.
