From word to hand: The formation of technical education in Peru, 1864-1915

This article analyzes the origins technical education in Perú and its importance for the national project after the Pacific War. The aim is to understand the role of the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Lima during this context and how its two main directors tenaciously promoted the industrialization proposal. The article concludes that technical professionalization initiated the process of technification in the national field.
