This article addresses the relationship between intellectuality and local educational processes through the case of the Jaujino teacher Pedro S. Monge Córdova and his production in the Xauxa magazine that was edited by the Colegio San José de Jauja in the mid-20th century. The articles suggests that what Monge produced, as well as his method of working with his students in this magazine, had a notable impact both on the configuration of the local identity of Jauja, as well as on the regional educational level.
