This article deals with the development of local politicians in the province of Lucanas during the second government of Augusto B. Leguía (1919-1930). It highlights the figure of the parliamentarians, who represent a link between local politics and regional or national politics, such as the case of the deputies of Lucanas, both in the National Parliament and in the Congreso Regional del Centro, a legislative figure that existed only during the Oncenio. The article analyzes the parliamentary trajectories, their relationship with the regime and activity after the regime. It is concluded that the contributions made by these authorities were important for the search for progress in the province, for which they had to serve as a political link between the authoritarian regime and the local population through clientelistic relationships.
