This article aims to reflect on the importance of active citizenship as a driving agent for the creation of public policies within management processes, which are in tune with the needs of the population. All of this is framed within an attitude of citizenship that overcomes and transcends the inconsistency between theory and practice, where, through a sovereign ethos, it assumes its leading role within society and can, in the clearest expression of an ethical practice committed to its environment, persist in a more equitable society.
