Las restauraciones de resinas en la zona proximal serán en el futuro la alternativa más importante a la obturación de amalgama. El éxito y el fracaso dependen fundamentalmente de la indicación a causa de la compleja técnica de trabajo y de las características del material. El tratamiento de pequeños defectos, en particular lesiones primarias, presentan mejores posibilidades que las restauraciones de cavidades mayores.Persiste cierta inseguridad al restaurar con resina las cavidades de clase II. Los principales argumentos esgrimidos contra su utilización en la zona oclusal son su escasa resistencia al desgaste, la contracción por la polimerización y su tendencia a la formación de fisuras en los márgenesDownloads
