There is a need to establish attachment styles in early childhood because they influence the emotional development of the individual (Guzmán y Contreras, 2012). A descriptive study was carried out, in order to identify the styles of attachment in a student population between 10 and 12 years of public and private educational institutions selected in the city of Bucaramanga. It was found that the students of the private institution had a secure attachment with the mother and father in 32.8%, contrasting with the public institution (23.4%). In conclusion the students of the public institution had higher frequency of insecure attachment (Ambivalent or avoidant) compared with the members of the private institution.Downloads
