It is undeniable that society is immersed in an environment where sexual diversity is gaining increasing visibility and recognition, transcending pre-existing normative structures. With this premise, coupled with the lack of studies, the present study delved into the analysis of the interest expressed by the Peruvian population in sexual diversity, using the Google Trends search tool. In its endeavor, a comprehensive exploratory analysis of the temporal and geographical distribution of searches related to terms related to sexuality was conducted, simultaneously conducting a literature review with a multivocal focus. The results showed an increase in interest in sexual diversity in the Peruvian context, revealing a particularly notable reception towards transgender gender identity. However, there was a lower reception in relation to the terms "transgender" and "cisgender." Such findings suggest a promising outlook for the dissemination and visibility of the LGBTIQ+ community. In light of these results, it is suggested that broader search parameters be considered, and exploration into the underlying reasons and mechanisms that shape such results should be undertaken, considering various methodological alternatives. It is imperative to emphasize that, despite the data provided by Google Trends, the underlying motivation behind the searches remains unexplored. In summary, this study addresses the academic gap regarding Peruvian interest in sexual diversity and serves as a valuable source of information in recognizing advancements in state policies and prospects for the LGBTIQ+ communities in Peru.
