This article analyses the confrontations between Julio C. Tello and Luis E. Valcárcel and their causes. It also explores the diverse sources, media and political connections used by Tello and Valcárcel in pursuing their work during their careers. At it does so, it explores their interests and efforts in promoting the development of the Social Sciences in Peru.Downloads
