The inka economy may be defined as a mobilization economy, where goods were canalised to the state to finance its political structure and expansion. The inka ceramic vessels production forms part of this complex economic organization developed to finance state activities. Considering the importance that ceramic technology had in the domination process exercised by the state at the provinces, this paper will analysed the state influence over the process of production and use of inka vessels at La Huerta site (Quebrada de Humahuaca, Provincia de Jujuy, Argentina).Published
