Abstract

The research allowed to establish the relationship between the channels of financial access and consumer credit in Peru during the period 2007-2016, circumscribing the scope of analysis to the physical access that the population has to access financial services. From this objective, a descriptive analysis was performed on the relationship between the variables and two approximations were used based on the regression analysis and the determination of the correlation coefficient. Thus, it was obtained as main result that there is a very positive relationship between the variables of interest. In this way, it was concluded that the access channels of correspondent offices and tellers are the factors that influenced the expansion of consumer credit in the country, but it is a necessary but not sufficient condition to determine the expansion of consumer credit.
